Discern what plant-forward eating is, the health risks of going exclusively plant-based, how these might be mitigated, and why it is vital to ensure nutritional adequacy whilst reducing deficiency risks
Identify a client's motivations behind wanting to include more plants in their diet (e.g. planetary health, personal health, religion, animal welfare) and where their current eating patterns stand in the plant-forward continuum
Support a client who is transitioning from plant-rich, to plant-based, to possibly plant-exclusive eating in a way that respects their needs and self-determined intentions
Apply the 10-Level Plant-Forward Nutrition Client Framework based on a client's autonomous decisions about progressively limiting processed meats, 4-legged animal foods, 2-legged animal foods, seafood, eggs, dairy, hidden animal-derived ingredients, animal-derived supplements, or products of labour
Evaluate the appropriateness of plant-forward eating for different health goals, including disease risk mitigation (e.g. cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, immune/inflammatory conditions), weight loss, athletic performance, gut health, skin health, brain and mental health
Ascertain the risk/safety considerations of plant-based eating for diverse life stages (pregnancy, breastfeeding, infancy, childhood, adolescence, elderly years) and when veganism may not be appropriate
Integrate plant-eating behavioural change strategies into your work and help clients develop new skills related to food-label interpretation, grocery shopping, eating out, food handling, cooking, and meal preparation
